Cadet stuff…No. 7……April 2008

Its that time again - time drag out the wet suit and polish the bottom of your boat!

The Club Boats are on the pier and ready for action!
Thanks to those who came to give us a hand to get the boats out on Sunday. The Toppers have had a few repairs with a few more still needed! The Fevas have some new cleats and the two GPs have been adopted by Clive and Jason (Thanks for agreeing to do that!). We hope they will be brought back to life with some new bits and pieces. The red mirror still needs
some work.- Anyone looking for a boat to adopt can let me know!

New Names for a new season.
The two club Fevas and the red Mirror are still without names. So we will have a little competition on our first training day and have them named! Best offers so far are Night Feva and Gettafix for the red Mirror! Get your imagination flowing!

Program of Dates:-
After some discussion this is what we have come up with for the start of the year.

3rd May 9am

Training for all - This is a 'get started again' session. We will run groups for different skill levels and ages - the Adults will get a group of their own! Bring a boat if you have one - we might need it!

We will be inviting our friends from Annandale and will put on a BBQ lunch. There's time in the afternoon to chat and plan for the year. Beginners are welcome. There is a race on Sunday 4th as advertised.

17/18th May

Training is planned for Saturday. We will try, over the weekend, to run a course which will allow those interested to get their Level 1 and 2 for Adults and Stage 3 and 4 for the youth scheme. (Certificates will be awarded!) We would hope to do a bit of an introduction to racing as well. There is a race on the Sunday but we'll do training across the weekend for those that want it. Turns up times are as advertised in the handbook.

24/25th May
A full weekend of racing as advertised. All welcome. Club racing is geared towards all levels so come and give it a go. It's a good way to improve your skills.

21/22nd June Training on the Saturday 11.15am:

We hope to do some work with spinnakers and look at down wind sailing. We might do some team racing training for those off to the schools regatta on the 27th. We will have a BBQ after training.
